A mandala offering represents Mt Meru and the whole universe that surrounds it. In offering a mandala to a lama, guru or deity, we are offering the entire universe. The mandala offering is created by positioning the metal base on the shrine and placing the largest of the 3 metal rings on top. This metal ring is then filled with rice and (if possible) precious stones. The next largest metal ring is then placed on top and filled in the same way. A further level is then built using the smallest metal ring. The top piece representing an eight-spoked golden wheel is placed at the summit.
This exceptionally beautiful mandala set shown here is made of pure silver and engraved with Auspicious symbols and precious offerings. This high quality set is approximately 7 inch in diameter at its base and reaches a height of approximately 11 inch when set up. Hand-made in Kathmandu, Nepal.
